Knee update

Went to the doc yesterday. All he said was that it's a hyperextension of my knee's next to some inflammation and water(which I knew about). Gave me 2wks worth of Vioxx and said to take it easy for a while. If it doesn't improve in the next two weeks I need to go back It was the last thing I was expecting, but I'm not complaining

Re: Knee update

Hope it gets better on its own w/o surgery.

Is a paradigm worth 20 cents?

Thanks TB. This might be the nicest thing you've ever said to me. I'm touched

Re: Knee update

Vioxx gave me an asthmatic reaction. I couldn't breathe within a half hour of taking it.
Hope that doesn't happen to you, as it was rather scary.

Took the first one almost 24hrs ago and no problems. It made my stomach hurt since I didn't take it right after a meal, but that was easy to fix

Re: Knee update

Wow...most people I know that have taken it had good results.

Good deal ND, you don't want surgery. You'll never be the same...

Re: Knee update

I just started taking 25mg of it too. I ruptured a disc in my back and got severe sciatica last Friday. I've had a queasy stomach if I don't eat when taking it. Now I'm sure it's not the Percocet doing that. Hopefully we both avoid surgery, I'll know in 2 weeks too. Good Luck

Bill

Yeah, apparently less than 1% had an asthmatic reaction in clinical tests. I don't know why I got the shaft, as I have never had allergic reactions to anything else.
My wife took it and it worked great for her.

Re: Knee update

Bill I have yet to meet someone better after elective back surgery. My Mom is an RN (who specialized in spine injury rehab for many years )and says the same thing if you don't include things like a broken back from a car wreck or diving accident (far more common than people probably think).

Get at least 2 opinions before you let anyone think about putting a knife in your back.

That sounds a little scary

But I agree, I don't even want to let anyone touch my knee's. I've never had to had surgery for anything, and hope I never will(knock on wood)

I really want to avoid back surgery, and nothing will stop me from going to Grattan. I'm already far more mobile, and only taking pain meds before bed (actually floor, beds too soft)

ND, knee surgery isn't that bad. I've been scoped twice and had ligament surgery on the same knee, rehab wasn't bad at all and I haven't had a knee problem in 13 years.
