I think its quite funny he did it. I don't think he did it to take on Microsoft at all, either, but just for kicks. The dumb mistake he made was 'negotiating' with them on price. Microsoft offered him $10 on purpose, knowing that most people wouldn't think twice about saying "no way, give me $X and I'll think about it".
Now they've got him, and he'll have to change his domain name. Too bad, really.

I think he did it just for a hoot....but he had to be an idiot to think that they wouldn't come after him.....
It was probably worth the time and energy for the prank factor, but he'd be incredibly stupid to spend any money trying to fight it.

I think he needs to take it to Da Man! and keep MS looking crappy in the papers.
