Need help with Dell computer

Ok I'm not the most computer literate person in the world so I need some help. I have a Dell laptop with the small, flat pad for mouse controls. Usually the far right side can be used to scroll the pages with using the arrows. Now for some reason it isnt working. I have checked through the system control page for something I thought would have reset it but couldnt find anything. Please tell me that it isnt broken and that I am really just computer ignorant.

More than likely it's just a software bug. Deal with it

EDIT: Go to www.windowsupdate.com and see if there are any driver updates(make sure you get all the critical updates while you're at it too)

Re: Need help with Dell computer

You want to go to the control panel and find your mouse settings, there should be a tap in there that says something about 'touchpoint' or something...I cant remember but I have/had the same issue on my Inspiron and its an easy fix. If you poke around in there and there isnt anything, try logging onto support.dell.com and visit/search the forums (or search for installed software with your service tag and DIY).

Not a big deal in any case - nothing physically busted or $$ needing to flow from your pockets (hopefully), just gotta either reload that software or readjust the settings in your control panel.

Sidenote: If your PC has a little green 'blob' in the system tray when you are using your touchpad, try clicking on it - that might take you to options (cant remember if Dell is the green motion blob or the grey/red one...)

or so I've heard
Is it bad when you decide the best course of action for your old hardware is to leave it in your car as a theft deterrent? I mean tossing that stuff out would cost some serious cash
