Re: Maybe next weekend?

It is on the pricey side, but a 70mph 4G ride on a bobsled looks like fun. It's not the full fledged ice and runner sled, but a roller sled on the concrete track sans ice.
One of the perks of having an Olympic park less than an hour away - that includes some excellent canyon riding to get to.

bobsled ride

Re: Maybe next weekend?

I always wondered what they do with those Olympic parks.

I've always wondered how people get started in bobsledding too.

Can you just picture little 12y/o Johnny saying:

'Daaaaaaaaaad, can I have a bobsled?'

Re: Maybe next weekend?

Yeah, I've been wanting to try that thing, but haven't made it up there for it yet.

We went up to watch the freestyle skiing guys practice into a pool, and on trampolines the year before the Olympics. *We also rode the little 'sled' down the ski run area. *That was pretty fun until I caught the slow azzed guy that went before me.

You can actually pay to jump off the freestyle lips into the pool now, too.

Ah, yes. The Alpine Slide. The one at the Park City Ski Area is a riot. They always tell you 'No Racing', but what are you gonna do? * *It's actually quite cheap, too.

I'll have to get a few guys together again to do the slide in leathers and helmet. Maybe the bobsled place will let us wear them too? Grafixman, what say you?

EDIT: The Skeleton? I'm all over that. I wanted to do it on the winter sled, but they weren't allowing it when I went up there. But now a guy could spend all day (and half his bank account) up there having fun.

Re: Maybe next weekend?

Yeah, Alpine Slide, that's it.

The 'no racing' is funny. *My Bro-in law decided we would race to the bottom after a couple of practice runs. *He caught me after I got stuck behind a slow guy, and started talking smack. *Of course, he wasn't paying attention to his driving and launched himself. *

I'd like to ride the Alpine Slide in leathers and a helmet, you could haul ass.
