Super Bowl Commercials

What did you think? I was mostly pretty underwhelmed by them. The only ones that I can remember being really entertained by were the American Chopper AOL ads. And I could have lived without the one describing the need to call your doctor if your erection lasts for over four hours

Re: Super Bowl Commercials

Pretty disappointing. The Bud Light ones were the best.

Re: Super Bowl Commercials

*sigh* Up here in Canada, we didn't get any good ones either. At least the game was entertaining.

You'd better be from New England! No cross-country bandwagon-jumping frontrunning fake fans allowed! When you live in Arizona, "YOUR" team is the stinkin' Cardinals! LOL!

Did you ever notice all the Green Bay fans that came out of the woodwork in the late 90's, or the Cowboys fans that suddenly sprang up in the early 90's? Now it's the Patriots. Thing is, they had to struggle against the Panthers! That mighty defense gave up a lot of big plays last night - might be time to upgrade the D-backs. (I was rooting for the Pats, too.)

Two in three years is impressive. Can they make it three out of four? It's SO hard to repeat, odds are against it...but they certainly proved they're for real!

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. WTF? A commercial stating if your erection last for more than 4 hours you "may" have a problem!

Off the topic a little, what about the halftime age demographic? The average age of Superbowl ticket holders is what? Maybe 30-50? The halftime show was aimed at the 13-15 year old demographic, IMO. Well, at least there was Aerosmith and the synchronized tape waving to Dream On.

Re: Super Bowl Commercials

The Chevy one with the kids with the soap in their mouth was pretty clever. I also got a chuckle out of the one with the referee with the verbally abusive wife.

Re: Super Bowl Commercials

Commercials:
- The Chevy commercial, where four baskteball players incredulously get in that little Aveo; then they cut to an interior shot (where the players had been replaced by similarly-dressed midgets...er - "small people"), to show how big the interior is. That cracked me up.

- Another Chevy commerical; where it's revealed that kids who being punished with the old "bar of soap in the mouth" thing had exclaimed "Holy S---!" upon seeing the new SSR.

- The Bud Light commercial with the dogs trained to fetch beers for the owners was good.

- The Lay's commercial where the elderly couple fought each other over the bag of chips.

{EDIT}
OH! How could I forget? It wasn't funny, but I have to give major props to Ford for the spot on the bada$$ new GT! Schweet car, excellent footage of that thing powersliding around a racetrack! A good one...

Yes TAZ, born and raised in New England. Been a Pats fan since the days of Irving Friar and Doug Flutie.

I really liked the Donkey wanting to be a Clydesdale.

{edit}...yeah the new GT-40 is one sweet car...500 HP, always wanted a GT-40 now they have a production version after 30 or so years. I give two thunbs up to Ford for that.

Okay, you're off the hook! Glad your boys won. After the Eagles blew it against their weakest NFC Championship game opponent to date, I just couldn't root for the Panthers.

Slight correction: the "GT40" was the 60's race car. Since someone other than Ford currently holds the rights to the "GT40" name, Ford is legally unable to call the new car the "GT40". It is simply "Ford GT".

Re: Super Bowl Commercials

Yes TAZ you are correct about the "GT"...but to me it's still a GT-40. I think it would be really badass if the new "GT" was to have a modern version of the 289, like the original but a 500 hp 5.4 liter supercharged motor will have to do I guess. In all actuallity even if they could call it the GT-40 it would be wrong, the original GT-40 was, as the name states 40 inches tall and the new "GT" is 43 inches tall. They could call it the GT-43 .

I liked the Bud ad with Dale Jr where he hauled ass to LA in the old Stingray to return the chick's lipstick.
