Anyone have a Mazda 3

I think they look pretty neat. Kicking around the idea of dumping my wife's cavalier for one. Probably a 5 door model. I would have to convince her to get the manual tranny as well, b/c that is the biggest thing I regret about caving on when we bought the Cavalier. A small sporty car w/ a 4 banger MUST have a stick!

Anyway, the Mazda 3 looks pretty sweet, but they are new and I was wondering if anyone had any feedback.

I looked at those as well. They are pretty cool for the price. You can get HID headlights and all that for under $20k. Super nice car.

Re: Anyone have a Mazda 3

If it's anything like the Mazda 6, I wouldn't worry about a thing. I thoroughly looked at 6's about a year ago, as I was considering buying one. It's a solid car. And I'm sure it's been for sale in Japan for a while. The 6 was released 1 1/2yrs prior to the US release IIRC

I just got a 2003 Protege 5 a few months ago and like it a lot. The 3 looks like a sweet car for the money.

Re: Anyone have a Mazda 3

My gf has the Mazda 5. It's pretty cool, nice suspension, good handling and lots of room. It even has CF around the stereo in the center of the dash. She really likes it but she has the auto trans in it For the price it's nice.

Re: Anyone have a Mazda 3

I've got a 2002 Protege 5 and for the most part it is a great car. It handles really good and it has tons of room in it. But the engine definitly lacks in power. I think the 3 has more than the Pro5 does though. If the cars are really similar though...the first upgrade will need to be the sound system. The stocker is terrible and with the sunroof open...fuhget about it.
And I agree with booth...the stick shift is much better than the auto version.
