Sorry BDA

LDH posted this on Rogue....

From: Erniefz1 (Original Message) Sent: 2/18/2004 9:36 AM
I was up at Performance Plus Tuesday morning when a man about 40 bought the silver 04 R1 not Tony but the other salesman told him in the parking lot that the new tires were slick and to be easy on the throttle for a while, I was standing there and also told him not to lean it over much at all for a while. As he pulled out of the parking lot the miniute the rear tire hit the street can you believe it he did both leaned way over and hamered the throttle the bike looked like it was on ice, then there it was on the ground spinning around like a top about three feet from the driveway on Pleasent View the rider was OK but boy it hurt me to see that brand new 04 R1 laid down spinning around after only about 15 feet of milage on it even though it wasen't mine I'll probably have night mares(OUCH!)

Re: Sorry BDA

The dealership must have forgotten to connect the anti-lowside device. Maybe we should take up a collection for BDA.

More money for the stealer...now he'll have to spend some more money on it, or live with the damage.

Such a shame for a new bike like that.

Bikes and women - both have nice curves.

Re: Sorry BDA

Man that's gotta suck. In a related story...........a few years ago a friend of mine went to a Suzuki dealer to pick up his new bike(RF900). As he was getting ready to pull onto the street, the same warnings were barked at him. When he pulled out he did the same exact thing and BAM, brand new bike on it's side infront of the dealer. You know it would be so bad if we didn't catch it on video since it was his first bike ever. So we now have it on video for all his friends to see whenever he tells someone how to ride their bike. I used to invite them over and show them the tape. Man it was great.

Re: Sorry BDA

Working at a Dealership for a while, I saw at least 3 new bikes, and 5 with new rubber go sliding down the road leaving the parkinglot.

At our dealership here a couple of years ago, a guy was killed on his first ride home from the dealership on a new Valkyrie.

Don't all the dents pop right back out and the scratches disappear on the R1?

No dents and scratches to worry about. The frame and body are impervious to any impact and/or abrasion.

Re: Sorry BDA

"I used to invite them over and show them the tape. Man it was great."

At the Mid Ohio national a few years back one of the guys we race with crashed in turn 1 (just past the bridge) on the second lap and hit the tire wall and bounced around for 30 seconds or so (unhurt) all on Speed Vison's video. Since we don't particularly like this guy, a teammate made an AVI loop of his crash including some "Hip Hop" boogie repeats during his airborne stage and this was published over on the WERA forum (where the crasher likes to hang). Needless to say, some of his "online bravado" was quickly diminished . . .
