Cold Med for someone taking BP meds?

So I cannot remember any names of over the counter medicines that are OK to take if you are taking blood pressure medice. Anyone out there in similar situation (except you remember)?

I won't be home for a bit yet and am getting closer and closer to coughing up a lung :crap: Actually I think I am getting better but now I am congested and at 4000ft above bluesheep standard I am wheezing all the time.

Thanks for saving the herd in advance :thumb:

I don't know, but often times it'll state on the OTC meds what other meds are not ok. I'd put a call in to your Doctor or Pharmacist...

My first thought would be to shoot a PM to Trauma One

Trauma One - Calling Trauma One.

I'm guessing when T1 logs in he'll check this.

A pharmacist will definately know sheep, and you can always use that new fangled invention, the telephone, and call your vet.

There's nothing you can take that really makes a difference. For coughs. if you're having an unpreventable cough response, to prevent you sleeping badly, I recommend a mild antihistamine immediately before bed. Otherwise a mild paracetamol and plenty of liquids including gargling water. I'm on high BP medicines.

The vet is many miles away and I don't have his number. I think I will recover before I get baa-ck :thumb: The pharmicist basically said all the good stuff is off limits and recommended Musinex.

Got to recover so I can go see the Rocky Mountain Bighorns tommorow morning :D

well coming from someone like me who gets a terrible cough (for a few weeks up to a month) when I get sick OldFogey is right, nothing really helps. I had such a bad cough one time (among some other ailments the doctor never did figure out) I was put on hydromet (http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drug-1485...=Hydromet+Oral) for my cough. Did nothing for the cough but a couple days into it I was hallucinating one night so I stopped taking it.

Lots of fluids and rest... Tylenol is ok... Just plain tylenol. The pharmacists actually know more of the OTC stuff than I do. I would personally take whichever they recommended if any...

dude the cough I had a few weeks ago was so bad not only did it prevent me from falling asleep a lot of the time but even a few nights I would keep my brother awake, even after I was asleep he said I was coughing and making a bunch of noises.

I sucked it up and didn't take anything. My brother and father both eventually caught it too. Father finally ended up on musinex after a week of being on some other stuff.

OK now imagine working 12 hour swing shifts (day to day swing) with half the air that you are used. Oh then get to go back to a hotel room instead of home and eat rather irregular and poorly :crap: I am not whining just don't want it to get worse as I have to get this job working and done, lots riding on it :P
