Serial ATA II?

Ok, so I'm looking at getting another drive for my box, and here's the two I'm looking at:

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...1253-12-316603

It seems the second one would be a better deal, 16mb buffer instead of 8, but it says it's SATA II. :idunno:

Does anyone know if there's a change that would affect this drive working/not working? I have no idea what SATA II means.

Yes serial ATA I and II are compatible. You do have SATA rather that ATA correct? ATA is wide plug vs SATA which is a small boxy one.

Definitely SATA, I added a similar drive last year, just smaller capacity (WD2500JD). I figured it was worth the extra $5 for the 16mb buffer. Now that I bought the helmet camera, I'm eating up drive space for videos so I'm just going to add another drive.

Thoughts?

If you can swing a SATA2 host adaptor, you will get some pretty decent streaming transfer and better overall performance. The data transfer rate is double the SATA1 spec.

Same drive on a different website. I use them for my hardware purchases and they're cool.
