my new lid

so i upgraded to this carbon fiber helmet which arrived today! im pretty happy with it. it feels about a pound lighter than my icon alliance i was wearing during my last get-off. it fits great!

plus, two bonus pictures. one of my cat Minner. he is a magician, he turns 10lbs of cat food into 20lbs of cat poop.

the other is a kentucky fishing spider i woke up sitting next to at my dad's apartment in indiana, not kentucky strangely enough. note the coke can in the pic for scale, n yes, those are babies in its nest! we considered burning the house to the ground n cutting our losses.

Re: my new lid

I like that helmet but I found the J.R helmets fit slim like a Shoei for my round melon...is that still the case? I am about due for a new one maybe I will check it out myself.....as a side note I'm not a huge fan of cats but that spider is disgusting!!!!!.......we have an outbuilding and some pretty healthy spiders come along but not like that mammoth

Re: my new lid

this is a little bit of an older one, i got from a lady who only wore it a couple a times before she got preggers. i wouldnt normally condone buying a used helmet but i know the person i got it from n she literally wore it like three times. it was a good opportunity for me to get a 400$ helmet for 100$. i found the size to be like icon in shape. ive never even had a shoei on s i couldnt tell you. the new jr carbon fiber helmet looks a lot better than this one

Re: my new lid

NIce, I recently went to carbon fiber helmets too, they are super light, but a little noisier from what I have noticed.

Re: my new lid

Mmmmmm... Carbon.....
My buddy has one similar and it is pretty nice, although it is a bit loud and not the best in the cold. Flip-side; it's very light, cool looking, and has good airflow. There are always tradeoffs.... That's why you get rich and have one of everything!

That spider is absolutely insane!!! We don't have those mid-ohio!!

That's the only downside I've thought of while planning to move south, more bugs/crazy spiders and sh!t. Yuk!

Mikeo: I really like that one to the right. That thing is just downright sexyyy!!

Re: my new lid

im most happy with the fit. my last helmet, which was my first in all my years of riding, was an icon alliance. the helmet wasnt bad but it was an extra large because i didnt know what i was doing when i bought it, and it was too big which killed my neck doing anything over 70mph. this one is quite a bit smaller at a large but fits just right. i havent had a chance to test it out on the road yet but i imagine itll cut down a lot on my neck fatigue. one being the right size and two being quite a bit lighter than the icon i had.

Re: my new lid

thanks for the picture of that spider and its nest. now i'm going to gouge my eyes out.

I liked my eyes. They came in handy when I rode, but now I can't keep them anymore.

shame.
