Lost my display

So I've been working on the bike the past couple of weeks to prepare it for the season. I found that the battery had cratered over the winter this year so I installed a new one. I removed all the...

Re: RC51 Experts Wanted

It's amazing how cheap stuff in for you all down south. Up here in Canada, and particularly where I live in Alberta, everything is so much more expensive. I was offered $10,500 for my 04' in...

If you order a RC51 wiring kit for a PCIII it comes with factory connectors for $20. Clip them off and wire them to your tails. then the untertail will plug into your factory harness.

Re: power commander

there are lots of good maps out there, but in reality, the bike really needs to be tuned on a dyno by someone with a little PC experience. If you're going to do the free mods, flapper valve and pair...

Re: Looking to buy an 2004 RC51

The first time I rode my RC I hadn't been on a litre bike in a long time and I was suprised at how wide the take felt and how low the bars were. It has very little steering lock. Once you are...

Re: RC51 vs 954rr - my personal thoughts

I couldn't love my RC more. when I got it in June,I found it very uncomfortable but after riding it for a season, I feel totally comfy on it. I have ridden 400km in a day and felt no ill effects. As...

Re: really dumb question new to the rc 51

Every engine is tuned with specific exhaust parameters. Removing the silencing portion of the exhaust system will accomplish a few things:

1) It will devastate your low end hp and torque. A Power...

Re: Keep the stock air cleaners for the map?

What it actually says on the Rogue site is that the stock fiilters already flow more air than the engine can consume. The K&N's will possibly create less resistance, but the engine is getting all it...

Re: Short exhaust on a SP2.

My point is, and has been for years....IT'S NOT BACKPRESSURE!!! The word "backpressure" has no meaning in this application. "Flow restriction" is a much more descriptive term and you used them both...

I have stopped counting the number of times I've had the "Back Pressure" discussion.

There is no such thing as backpressure. PERIOD! That is a word made up by people who didn't know what they were...

Re: Which RC-51 should I buy?

It's not all about power. Lots of bikes are faster than the RC and some small bikes are close, but it's a weapon. It handles differently than a smaller bike and it accellerates like a demon from...

Re: Which RC-51 should I buy?

The odds of dying or being very badly hurt are exponentially higher on an RC51 than on something smaller and more neutrally handling. It has been proven over and over again...IMHO

The 600RR is a...

Re: Gas Mileage on 2000 RC51??

I have been tracking my milage for about the last 20 tanks of fuel and I am averaging approximately 6.75L/100km. I get from 220 - 240km per fill and it usually takes 14 - 15L. That's 34-35mpg. I ride...

Re: The next big thing in motorcycle evolution

Just to paraphrase what saf said, turbo lag is a product of spool time. When you step on the gas, it takes time for the exhaust gases to get the turbine up to the speed at which it begins actually...

Re: The next big thing in motorcycle evolution

This seems counter-intuitive to me. Turbo works to increase the amount of fuel you can burn by increasing the amount of air forced into the cylinders. Power is proportionate to the volume of fuel...
