rough running 929

Hi all, new to this forum and blades.(previous thundercat owner)
I recently bought a 2001 929, 1 owner, full history, 16k
Road it home ok with no issues, the following day I rode it and kept cutting out when stopping also seemed a little bit rough running at low speeds.
Now the owner said that he put fuel in it in april which is a bout 3 months ago, could anyone tell me if the fuel in it could have gone bad over this period of time.
He has recently had new plugs as one of them was cracked and the fuel line flushed to make sure.
As this is my first blade and FI bike not sure if I should drain the tank a put in fresh fuel or just let it run low and then fill up.

Any response welcome.

Thanks

Rob

Re: rough running 929

It could be bad gas but more likely its a bad fuel pressure regulator. Remove seat, raise the tank and pull the vacuum line off the fpr on the left side of the fuel rail. Turn on the key and if you see fuel drip from the fpr its bad and will need replaced.

Re: rough running 929

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I`m going to put fresh fuel in and run it over the next few days and if no change I`ll look into replacing the FPR.
Thanks again ,handy video.
