Will My Motorcycle fit in a cargo van?

Hey guys,
I have a 2009 cbr600rr and I sometimes need to transport it places. I was wondering whether or not my bike would fit inside a cargo van: 2002 Ford E-250 Extended Cargo Van?

Thnaks!

Re: Will My Motorcycle fit in a cargo van?

you could probably get away with 3 staggered, 4 crammed and tweaked... One? no problem. Room for the tool box too.

Re: Will My Motorcycle fit in a cargo van?

I was thinking about ducking my head and just riding it up in first gear into the locking wheel chock...does this sound doable?

It seems a tape measure would know better than some guys on a motorcycle forum knowing the inside height of a van.

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.

Re: Will My Motorcycle fit in a cargo van?

Be careful riding your bike up the ramp. And I'm not talking about clearance for your head. Although that's something to consider.
I've seen a couple of accidents happen to guys riding up the ramp. If you apply any throttle while your rear wheel is on the ramp, (if you need just a little more momentum to get the bike all the way in the van) your ramp can spin out from under you -- and you and the bike go down! No bueno.
That said, riding your bike up the ramp into a van is do-able. I ride my dirt bike up into my pick-up truck all the time. But I have air bags suspension, and can lower the truck quite a lot. I rode my VFR into the truck at least 20 or 30 times as well. I never ride my RC51 into the truck. I get help and push it.
But please, if you try it, be VERY careful. It's pretty risky.

Sorry to come off as a smarta$$, we really are a freindly bunch around here.

As for the ramp jondog had some great points. Also take into consideration the low clearance a sportbike has. The ramp usually has to be a bit longer to minimize the angle at the top. Also I would push it up the ramp a couple of times before riding it to make sure it has enough clearance, and also remember with your weight on the bike it will sit a tad lower yet.
