Ron Ayers

I called customer service at Ronayers on friday at the end of the day to ask them:
Why they didn't repsond to my emails to [email protected] which was actually inquiring about why it was 3 weeks since I ordered and hadn't heard anything from them besides the reciept from that day.

The woman I spoke with said that she just got hired last week. She took a few minutes and explained that my oil and honda chain lube just came in that day and would ship out on Monday.

I was a bit annoyed. I'm not sure exactaly why, but I think I would have liked a backorder notice or something. I like ronayers and have ordered from them in the past and will in the future, but ... hrmph...
/rant

Anyone else have any RA issues lately? Is everything ok over there?

My oil and lube should be here soon. hoefully the weather will let up for good and stop snowing every day.

Re: Ron Ayers

Not sure; I haven't ordered anything from them lately, but haven't had a problem in the past.

Don't they have on-line order status if you log in to your account there?

Re: Ron Ayers

Yeah that was the thing, I checked it a few times and there was no shipping info. With patience, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking that they just missed the tracking number or something.

Ron Ayers is a bit slow - it's true. You just need to show your grandchildren how to work on your bike. They will be able to fit the parts when they arrive.

Re: Ron Ayers

I have ordered things from em before that were backordered and had to call to find out...but they are usually pretty swift so I figure the 1 time that happened = no big deal.

why put off today what you can wake up late and forget to do tomorrow.

Ouch

I got my parts today! YAY! I think that it would be nice if they had a better communications policy in dealing with backorders if that's how they do it.

Still
I like Ron Ayers - good prices, good resource.

Re: Ron Ayers

They had a recent change in management... well about a year ago I guess... I have no idea if that has anything to do with it, but overall, the store has improved...

On a side note a friend of mine recently took care of Ron Ayers

Re: Ron Ayers

Too bad Ron Ayers isn't even associated with the business anymore. Sold it long ago...

I didn't know about the management change, but I know that I haven't heard from Chip lately. Is he still in charge of the mail/online order department?

Re: Ron Ayers

Ordered 2 fairing bolts for my 'blade and 2 for the wife's SV about 2 weeks before my last trackday. Didn't arrive by the time we had to leave.

Lowsided on Sunday and don't need them anymore.

Come home from work Monday afternoon and guess what's waiting for me? Insult, meet injury.

Re: Ron Ayers

If you choose the slowest, cheapest shipping option, the parts take 5 business days to make their way to Ron Ayers. One business day to be re-dispatched and up to 5 days to reach you depending on your location.

If you are in a hurry you can choose the overnight, both ways, option but it gets expensive.

My local dealer seems to be able to get parts in about 2 business days. The base cost of the part is a bit more and there is also the sales tax. But it is much cheaper than the express service from Ron Ayers.

Re: Ron Ayers

I have used Ron Ayers in the past and they have been pretty slow, however, my last order was placed on 4/20 (a thursday night) and I'm sitting here now holding my order in my hands in sheer amazement (Wednesday the 26th). So they had three special order parts and they got them to my door in 4-5 business days! Not too shabby.

Re: Ron Ayers

There is a thread going at SV Rider about Ron Ayers. In short, I think they are a terrible outfit. I'll never order from them again.

Re: Ron Ayers

I think things have changed a lot since Chip left. He was in charge of their mail order business, but isn't there anymore. Shame too, he kept it running smoothly.
