LF: CBR 929 Engine Case

I'm looking for a CBR 929 engine Case that isn't broken. Or a blown motor with a good case.

Re: LF: CBR 929 Engine Case

Where is your case broken? I have an 01 which was sold to me with a cracked case under the stator cover (the jerk slipped that one past me by using JB Weld and it worked till I got the bike home). It was a bad crack in two places. I spent allot of time looking for an engine and meanwhile trying to JB it myself so I could ride. To the point, I found a local guy here in BC who is able o fix anything from a cracked case to a rod through the engine. Sounds too good to be true but it is. He fixed it and now, dry as a bone perfect. It cost me $140 for the fix.

Re: LF: CBR 929 Engine Case

Yeah this one is cracked behind the coolant bottle (yeah he slipped that on by me too). But it is also leaking in the engine.

Re: LF: CBR 929 Engine Case

If you can get the engine to Langley, Ive seen him rebuild a blown out cylinder wall on another 929 back to perfect condition so he should be able to help you. His name is Wally. PM me if you want his # He gets engines from all over the place sent to him. He only works on bikes, sleds and ATV's. Let me know if I can help somehow. Hate to see some one else get burned like I thought I was.

I had to run the engine and then look under with flashlight and mirrors to find the smaller of my two leaks as it was very thin crack and it took patience to wait for the oil to start to form a bubble. The first crack was big enough to see through. He wont take the bike apart but if you find the cracks he will fix em nicely and quickly. I will PM you his number as he probably does not want it on the thread.
Cheers

Re: LF: CBR 929 Engine Case

I have an engine case for a 929. Top and bottom. The bike was dropped on the left side cracking the stator cover and the forward mounting tab where a bolt holds the cover on. The actual flat area area where the gasket lays between the cover and the case and seals has not been cracked. The mounting tab has been professionally replaced by an experiences aluminum welder. The tab just needs to be drilled and tapped for a stock bolt to go back in. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Re: LF: CBR 929 Engine Case

i have a 929 engine complete still running with a bent 2nd gear fork, a bare 954 block with pistons and rods (so you can rebuild yours into a 954), and a complete 954 engine already disassembled due to bad trans (comes with good spare trans)

How much do you want for the 954 block with the pistons and rods. or how much for the 929 engine.
