stator repair

I dropped my bike on a slow turn, and since I didn't have sliders it fell right on the stator and cracked, all the oil came out. There's a wire inside there that's shredded and I was wanting to know what it was and how much to fix it

Even with sliders the 929/954 still tends to damage the stator cover. It's also common to damage the crankcases behind the stator cover, this can often be welded up though.

You are looking at the stator. Around US$260 for an OEM one but there are aftermarket stators available for a little less.
