And I go down....

Okay, well I was on my way to the store to pick up some soda and decided to take the very-scenic route to get there... long story short I cut too low on a turn that I have gone through probably hundreds of times. The tire slipped enough for her to lowside. The frame sliders did their job well, though the plastics did nick just a little bit. Pics to come soon I have to grab some after taking my 'ole lady to work...

Re: And I go down....

For what it's worth, I don't blame the tire either... It was a little cold, I think it was a mix of being a hair bit too low and slipping just a little bit. I should have been able to upright her enough not to go down, but it just happened too quickly for me to respond to it. Such is life, rode her around a bit more, nabbed my soda and headed home....

Re: And I go down....

I know that feeling dude. Take it easy the next few days, even if you don't feel any aches or pains ....

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.

Re: And I go down....

Oddly, I was just a hair above 2,000 miles into my journey with her. My 600RR went down at 1927 miles, so I made it further this time before going down =P

Will do Sky, hurt the right hand a bit, nothing broken though. I'll live to crash another day..

Bright side to everything I guess

At a minimum I would say 2 954's lol. Luckily neither one was bad, oddly bryan got a worse deal than I did somehow. I'm still not 100% on what happened in my case, best I could figure was high angle mixed with bad traction and a mildly cold tire. Rider error is certainly a factor, but I can't pin exactly what I did wrong.. I know I didn't back off the throttle, I was in a pretty good line, and I didn't touch the brakes at all. I know it is my fault, just wish I could pinpoint what I did wrong.

Anyway- I am disappointed to say I didn't have the GoPro mounted up at the time =( Funny thing is that I was really thinking about bringing it with me, probably should have.. definitely would had it on there if I KNEW I was going to go down, but I guess you just never can tell when that'll happen.

As promised- PICS!!!

Re: And I go down....

Upon closer inspection, the front tire is taken all the way out the the edge... not sure if I did in fact over-run the tires, but it is possible I suppose. I know the rear-end slipped out first, I don't figure from a weight transfer as I was on the throttle (actually accelerating a little), still just boggles me.... going to bug me for a while I think.

The pain is starting to set in a bit all over the right side. I'll have to get pics of my jacket- which barely got touched, pants didn't tear through, right boot took a bit of a beating, gloves are good. I'll get pics of those later and get em up.

Mexican riding sand .... blows in, wipes you out, then blows away leaving no trace.

Re: And I go down....

Gah! Hate that happened at least you had the frame sliders to help you out. I'm about to order me a set so hopefully (when it happens again [Which I hope it doesn't but I know it will]) it wont scrape up the entire fairing
