I had the same issue on my 99' it took about an hour of the key having sex with the bike till the bike wanted to give in. I haven't had the issue again but just keep going at it, just don't break the key. Also i believe spraying some wd40 on the key may help. I understand your frustration. Maybe try to show someone in person. I was going at it for at least 45 mins when my girlfriend showed up and when i went to show her the problem the key finally wanted to turn xD
