Almost ashamed to admit... 07' R1 Project Rebuild

Recently sold my 929 and purchased another shortly after, then traded it off and ran across a sweet deal on a wrecked 07' Yamaha R1. Have never been a fan of Yamaha's maintenance schedule and dependability record but I frankly couldn't afford to pass it up...
Put my Banshee Quad up for sale to fund the project so it should start coming together soon after my quad is sold..

Looks like the fork tubes are toast, how'd the frame neck hold up?
And don't be silly, no shame in a yamahammer.

Squid was riding wheelies on the Interstate wearing shorts, t-shirt and helmet.. spent over a month in the hospital and lost it to the wrecker yard. So luckily (for me) I was able to steal it from the wrecker yard with a clean title!

Left is toast, but I think the right may just be twisted in the triple. Either way, I'm gonna replace the complete front end just to be safe. Small cast tab broken from the front of frame but it is still attached to the fairing stay (what's left of it) so it should be a fairly easy weld up.

The clean title bit is epic

Photos when done please

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.

Less than 3k?! Damn, now I know what yuou mean by a deal you couldn't pass up. That 07 R1 was the first bike that tugged at my heart strings. Deffinitely see myself owning one someday they're all a part of the same family in my book.

That's almost free !! You can ride it for 5 years and still sell it for more than you paid for it

It was the 1999 for me
