well, i have a 929 the battery is good, when i turn the key, i hear the fuel pump prime, but when i hit the start button, nothing happens, the red lights stays on does not blink, and the fi light is on. Ive had the bike running before, and after a fuel pump change it would just keep turning and not start but ive had to travel for work and its been in my shed. could any of this be the stator or rectifier ???

Have you checked the voltage on the battery? Is she getting a spark?

battery is brand new, how can i tell if its getting spark?

Remove the plugs and ground them onto the bike. If the frame is painted you will have to place them on one of the bolts or any bare metal on the bike.

You will have to get down to a spark plug wire and either remove the wire and the spark plug, then lay the plug and wire on the cylinder head and check it that way, or if you have a spare plug, just attach the wire to it, grounded against the cylinder head/frame
