I'm just in the middle of bleeding the front clutch Master Cylinder on my '84 Shadow 750 and while sucking out the cloudy brake fluid with a turkey baster I notice a little piece of metal floating around. From the MC diagrams it appears to be called a Protector and goes within the MC somewhere. There is a flat hole in front of the funneled hole at the bottom of the MC that looks like the Protector would fit around to cap the funneled hole. But I'm not sure and can't find anybody that's talked about this. All the diagrams are not specific at all and none of the youtube vids showing MC bleeding mention this piece.

Can someone please describe how the Protector fits within the MC? Is there a tiny rod that holds it in? or give a link to a vid that shows that part in action?

Thanks!
~Jeff
