I just purchased a 1988 CBR 600 Hurricane. The bike starts fine and stays runing good. Exellant pickup above 5,500 RPM. However, no matter what gear I am in, (realy obvious in 1st, 2nd and 3rd) the motor bogs down as I Accelerate starting at 4K rpm till I reach around 5,500 rpm.

The first thing I did after buying the bike was I ran the tank dry and filled with 92 with a bottle of Gumout. Ran that through but no improvements. It also has a Vance & Hines Performance slip on.

Thank you in advance!

has it been jetted properly, to run "with" the can?...oops!:O ..slip on :D ?

:idunno:
TMAC - I do not think it has been re-jetted for the new can. I held a paper towel to the end of the exhaust last night and reved the engine acouple times. The paper towel was saturated with "dirty gas". It seems to be running very rich. I thought of drilling a hole throught he side of the can and installing a steel washer allowing for rotation to adjust the amount of back pressure.

What do you think?
