Hi,

I have just replaced the original rectifier-regulator with a non Honda part and had the burnt out stator re wound. Does anyone have details of the actual circuit contained within the regulator-rectifier box.

I would like to know out of curiosity

I have actually found the motor to be smoother after this work or am I dreaming?

A word of advice: regardless if your rectifier-regulator has failed, apply heat transfer paste to the mounting plate as I found that mine was only touching on 2 small points. This would let the assembly run hotter and probably contributed to its failure.

My 929 regulator simply floats around in the trunk (when I have the charging system on the bike) with no problems but I would agree that it's probably better to mount it in contact with a nice big lump of aluminium to aid in heat transfer.
