I have a 2000 CBR 929 and I am taking it apart to get it ready for paint. I need to know the size of an allen wrench/ star bit for the bolt on the bottom of the tank that has runs to the fuel pump. Any suggestions? Here is a picture of what I am talking about. 2012-10-24 19.02.43.jpg

umm, and this is just me

why not just pull the fuel pump completly?

i just did my tank not too long ago and i removed the fuel filler cap and pump. cleaned both really well and then taped them off with some 2 inch 3M tape.

just make sure you tape over the studs aswell as the openning. if when your done and go to replace the fuel pump, it leaks..you can always go to the local parts store and purchase a roll of rubberized gasket material. 6 or 7 dollars make a new gasket.

i had to do it..but it worked great...took me 2 times to get the gasket right, but i did have 5 foot of gasket material to play with.
