2003 954 RR 10,224 miles

The bike is in excellent condition. It was dropped on the right side (by me) but it was on dirt and the entire time I was clinching every muscle in my body trying to stop it. There is minimal damage to the right-hand side of it. Also, there are bad scratches on the back seat and paint around that general area. They are right behind where your butt goes and imagine that if someone were sitting on it you wouldn't be able to see it. It kinda looks like someone had a chain wallet made out of barbed wire. There are a few scratches on the fuel tank.

The bike is incredibly fast. It has a D&D pipe and full exhaust on it which makes it sort of loud and awesome. There are some people who think that the D&D pipes make them too loud, but I simply don't understand this. I have owned 2 Harleys and they were both louder than this bike. It also has a corbin seat. I previously owned a 929 RR that was sort of built but it was stolen. I came across this and thought that I should try to relive my glory days. I have an incredibly bad back these days and haven't felt good enough to ride it more than a couple of times in the little over a year I have owned it.

I haven't looked in a month or two but I have watched way crappier bikes sell for around 7k on ebay... what is my bike worth? The lowest mile bike I have seen on ebay had 21k miles. Mine has less than half that.

I have included pics of the damage that I see as well as the chain indicator. I have included some close-up photos of the damage and scratches. I have included a couple pics trying to capture the entire bike. Overall the bike is in great condition.

2 questions that might (or might not) help your cause. first where is it located? it helps to know if the bike needs to be shipped of if one can head out in a pick-up with a friend or 2 and road beer money. #2 , what is your asking price? FYI people on this site know a bit about the bikes we are passionate about so price it right. don't see anyone paying 7k for a $3-4 thousand bike. just saying.

I live in Colorado Springs and it will bring more than 3-4k here. Let's be realistic for a second. I have watched 3 bikes that were not modified sell for over 6k on eBay none of these bikes were built or had anything special going on with them. Just medium miled bikes that were complete runners. I don't think that anyone should have to pay 7k for my bike. I also KNOW that it is not a 3-4k bike around here. I can beat that here. I put my bike up on craigslist minutes after posting on here. I woke up this morning to 4 inquiries. I honestly think that considering how fresh the bike is that it is worth somewhere in the 5k range. That is my opinion and I would be very happy with $5500. I put it up looking for people to maybe help me decide what to actually ask for it since we are basically at bike selling season. I tried to write a pretty honest description of my bike.

Sounds to me like bikes are bringing a "premium" in your location. I have a pair of 954s (each triple that mileage), and their value in the Northeast US are $4K (each) at best. I hope you get what you're asking, but where I am, the low mileage is the only thing going for that specific machine.

Agreed here. No one on the east coast would pay upwards of $6000 for an even absolute mint showroom condition 954. They just don’t have the demand, like say for a mint 93 roundeye. Not to say that yours won’t sell for what you want, just on this side of the road someone would think we were crazy at $5500.

But I know what you mean. I have a 93 900RR cafe of sorts. I would want 3,500 for it, even at a loss to me, but I’ll never get it.

The very best original unmodified low mileage 954’s here in the UK can be bought for under £4,000 ($5,500) if you are looking for top money for yours I’d suggest you repair the damage where it’s been dropped.

The scratches on the tail section look like they could be polished out, the tank could be carefully touched in and the pillion seat could simply be replaced.

I appreciate people being a little kind here as I was honestly asking for advice on what my bike is worth. I am not making it up when I say I have watched 3 954s sell on ebay for well into the 6xxx area and there was nothing special about them. They were all 3 basically really clean bikes (which I suppose my is not) with the lowest mile bike having around 21k on the clock. One had 34k and it still brought over 6 on ebay. I don't know. With all of this being said I simply don't want to be the idiot that sells a 6k bike for 3k. Its not like I am an unreasonable person. I came to the forums for pricing advice. I think I am going to ask 5500 and be open to offers/trades. Does this sound reasonable or am I still in need of a drug test?

I'm going to break this to you as gently as possible. You are not sitting on a goldmine. You're selling a scratched-up 15-year-old bike with a POS noisemaker attached. KBB says that bike is worth between $2900 and $4700. You'll never get $5K for it. You'll be lucky to get $4500.

Forget eBay. eBay is OK for a niche bike, a collector's item. That's not what you have. You have a scratched-up 15-year-old bike with a POS noisemaker attached. Here's how to sell it. First, shitcan the D&D and buy a used stock exhaust. Then put on your local CL for a high price. You can try $7K, but it's a waste of time. I'd start at $6K. that's still high. Then lower it $200 a week until it sells.

Remember, there is no magic buyer out there. Your ad is being viewed by thousands of people every day. If you're not getting calls, the market is telling you it's priced too high. It will sell when you hit the right price for that market.

The guys here will probably tell you I'm crazy. That the bike will sell for much more than I say. Remember this. They are enthusiasts. They LOVE 954s. But they're not buying your bike. They all have 954s in the garage already.

Gotta agree with JMoore on this on, sadly. Just looking tonight I see a near mint 929rr for $5500 and right next to is is a pretty good looking 04 zx10r for the same price. Both clean with very low miles. Guess which one will go first and which has been listed longer?

Unfortunately that sounds about right.
