I am having issues with my gsxr. When I am accelerating the engine feels like it is shutting off and then turning back on which causes the bike to jerk pretty hard. If I let off the accelerator it stalls completely. Oddly enough this doesnt happen when I ride the bike hard in the gears. Any assumptions as to what it could be?

Thx.

You most likley have a sensor problem ..wrong or delayed info is being given to the ecu, most common is throttle position sensor,or altitude sensor ,but could also be variety of the others. Best do dash board fault check to see if you have any error codes ,if you do then the code will pinpoint the sensor that needs looking at.

Can you explain the difference between "when I am accelerating" and "when I ride the bike hard"? Aren't you accelerating when you ride the bike hard?

your not hitting the rev limiter are you? as that will feel like a switch on off at high revs
have to ask as some people dont know about them

has it got a power commander fitted?

if so check its got a good earth .

connect direct to the earth post on the battery if you can assuming its not already and make sure the conections are tight

also if a pc is fitted its worth disconecting it and try stock setting to eliminate a fault in the pc

also a squirt of wd40 around any connections re-lays etc as that will get any moisture out
