I have a 2008 CBR1000RR RR8. It keep ticking noise somewhere between 2 000 - 4 000rpm. I check valve clearences and replace camchain tensioner. There was flat spots in the top of some camshaft peak. That's cause this ticking noise. Those flat spot's are ~1mm wide.
Now I'm gonna ride to the end of next summer and let the dealer do the repairs. :(
How crappy this new Honda can be? High oil consumption, clutch problems, etc. :thumbd:

Mine dosn't eat oil. There is allways used Motul 7100 10W-40 high performance oil. I change my oil and oil filter after every 6 000 km. Blade have now in the odo meter 15 000 km. My next bike dosn't really are Honda. I think that i have BMW in the next year. K1300S
