Hi,

I need to replace the Cam Chain Tensioner on my 2010 CBR1000rr ABS.

I am having trouble finding a guide online, has anyone done it before? If so, can you provide some brief instructions/pics of where the cam chain tensioner is located? From what I understand it's underneath the tank? Hoping I don't have to take the airbox off.

Also, in ordering an OEM replacement outside of the CCT itself, do I need to order any other parts such as bolts etc?

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the info, I was looking in the service manual and goofed when I saw "lifter" and thought it may be another part (as you can tell I'm an ace mechanic!)

I'll provide some pics once I get started! Below is a picture of my CBR in the meantime (has '12 conversion kit since)

Hi matey, you will need parts
http://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/detail/honda/14520-mfl-013/b2523976?m=143133&sch=657235
and
http://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/detail/honda/14525-mfa-d01/b1338753?m=143133&sch=657235
which is the tensioner and gasket, you can reuse the bolts
also
14520-MFL-013 LIFTER, TENSIONER $57.74
as you can see on the partzilla picture, there is a key in the tensioner dont release this until the manual tells you, and once used put it somewhere safe, cos they always come in handy:winkBill
