Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, and I have a question regarding the intake valves on my 2011 cbr1000rr. I had the airbox off today while installing an HRC quick turn throttle kit, and I decided to take a look down the intake tracts to see how everything was looking (the bike has 1500 miles). All of the intake valve heads had a black tar-looking substance on them. The last time I saw deposits like this on intake valves, the bike in question had bad valve seals, but it was also smoking like crazy. This cbr runs great, and it doesn't smoke or otherwise burn oil (at least that I've seen). The bike is all stock except for a pcv (stock pipe/stock filter map) and an IRC. I always keep fresh 91 octane gas in it (usually from chevron), and like I said, its got about 1500 miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I don't know what could have caused this, or even if I should worry about it (although it doesn't seem right). Thanks in advance,

Ian
