Sweat a bit more.....but I still have hands and a full set of skin. I wear a Joe Rocket Mesh jacket here in the tropics - as long as I'm moving it's not too hot. ATGATT will save your skin. Some good boots will help immeasurably.
welcome to the org fellow marine!!!! wear mesh in the summer.......ride safe and take you sweet time.........we were all in your shoes at one point in time and it will take some time to get familiar with your bike. take it slow, watch your 6, and KILL KILL KILL.................
im confused as to what kind of mesh. it just dosent seem to me that mesh would do any good....any help would be great!
forgive the primer on the windshield it was like this when i bought it...i do however wanna get it painted a satin black this winter...comments?
ok as far as leather products go what do you all do in the summertime when it's 80 degrees?
Kevlar reinforced jeans are great for the summer, Draggin Jeans do them in various styles.. :thumb:

I have armoured mesh jackets which have thermal liners so they are cooler in summer when the liner is out and warm in winter so I don't freeze my 'bits' off.. Same goes for my leather jackets..

Sweating a bit in summer is definately preferable to leaving your skin smeared down the road..
loop says it good, the mesh jackets (most of them if not all) all come with elbow, shoulder, back and sometimes chest protection, they serve well in the summer.........joe rocket has the liners that you can zip up in the cold weather and its sorta like a gortex jacket in the military (wind and water proof)
cool ill be checkin em out....unfortunately the riding season is almost over here in ohio so ill be more in tuned with primer/painting as well as tuning. when spring rolls around ill worry about more protective gear. I appreciate all the wisdom and insight...i understand a lot of that comes from first hand experience and im grateful that i can heed the knowledge now before something happens.
safety is no accident
I always have my body covered up with Joe Rocket, or Fieldshier. I especially like gloves with the kevlar knuckles. Eventually, I will get some SIDDI boots.
For now my work boots are fine.
Fieldshier for winter, and Joe Rocket for summer. Not that there is whole lot to worry about in the Skull department for me, however, I do understand that if my head is not there, niether will the wrest of me. To keep the experience of life going, I do wear a helmet to keep the ganglion intact.
I prefer Shoei, have had Aria and have a spare helmet,, but no spare head.
I could only get one of those.......................:)
well said there sidmark

i did 6 years, this is just my opinion and i may cause conflict on this (i hope not) but marriage and military is hard and sometimes dont mix.........its time to buckle down and live government free (just a little)

It is true... but the chair force UH Air Force has been great. 13 years and only 2 wifes. hehe Na the first wife loved thie military we just didnt give a crap about each other.
thats funny..........
I left the Marine Corps for a couple of reasons. Incompetent leadership was a big part, it was physically taxing, ( not the running and the workout aspect but the shapnel and other wounds sustaind), and it kinda messed me up. I feel i did my time honorably and 2 combat tours was good enough. I got married...well let me rephrase, I was a meal ticket for a while and i left that right along with the Marine Corps at the same time. New Beginnings i guess.
ok well enuff alreasy i guess...
2nd bn 3rd mar Golf co. 2nd plt 1st sqd 1 Team Leader. yut!

good reason there straight edge, thank god i never went through that(purple heart)(props to you) but i see the effects of the fleet and fallen friends on my brother, i hate to see the way 2 tours made him, i choose the reserve status, we were both overseas at the same time and that just kicked our parents butt, they hated it........im glad you, my brother and i are done!!!
me too man...me too anyway on a lighter note i was wondering the exact definition on a squid...is it just not following ATGATT or is it a lifestyle? where did the term come from? i was sparked by the squid of the day thread...

Maybe you werent asking me, but, here goes;
Squid= One who does things that make no sense. Look up Morron in the dictionary. A person who can persistantly do foolish acts, while getting injured and making a complete fool of themselves. Someone that irritates you so much, that you call them a [email protected]! out lowd in public. The word Squid is used to describe a person rideing a motorcycle, who does not obey the rules while attempting to do something foolish on a motorcycle. A Squid is someone who does not understand what it means to learn slowly.:)
That would be my definition: It is not a life style.:thumb:

A squid is a brainless idiot who shouldn't be riding a bike as they are a risk to not just themselves but everyone on the road because of their actions.. :D
