Just some trivial info for those who may be interested...

Stock 530 chain (108 links) = 4.8#
RK 520 chain (110 links) = 4.2#

Stock 16-tooth = .7#
AFAM 15-tooth = .4#

Stock 43-tooth = 1.6#
RRP 45-tooth = .8#

Weighing was done on a home digital scale (Tanita), so there could be a little bit of room to work with on these numbers, but should be fairly accurate. Can't wait to ride a see how she feels. :thumb:

Weight saving is good but its the unsprung weight that you will definately feel in the seat :thumb:

I just did the 520 -1/+2 change on the RC and its night and day, on that bike even a 5lb savings means very little :smilebig:

Aside from the -1/+2, does it seem like your RC spins up a lot faster due to the lower rotating mass of the 520?

what are the drawbacks of the 520 conversion? Any difference in chain/sprocket life? Been thinkin about doin this over the winter on my 954, which has only seen street miles so far but will have it on the track at least a few times next year, if it makes a difference. :idunno:

None other than purchase price. Just buy quality stuff and it will outlast your stock stuff. (which is actually quite good BTW)

Your countershaft sprocket will be noisier.

Yea I did the 520 on my 929 and very happy with it.. Plenty strong enough.
;)
I know a guy that ran 520 chains on his 270 HP ZX12R (of course that was with the 70 shot NOS). He was of the opinion that the 520 was plenty strong.

Oh.. he used to run RC-51's on his AMA racing team.... (there's your Honda content for the day).
