Fault code 35 (egcv/ air inlet servo fault) means FI warning on lcd. I have been informed if exhaust valve is open it is possible to disconnect servo and connect a solanoid, meaning lcd warning is not displayed. Is this right and any idea where to get such a solanoid? This is for 2001 929RR1

That is right, if you leave HTEV valve (the one in exhaust) fully open (90 degrees position as i remember) and you also have to remove airbox falpper. Plug in old servo and you are all good. I know that servo from 954 blade gets rid of error code. It would be a good thing to check wether the cogs in servo motor were stripped or its the servo that got burnt.
Its worth checking for second hand servo motor on ebay, but before replacement you should inspect the HTEV valve and cables as there is a big chance that its stuck due to carbon build up and that's what caused your servo motor/gear cogs failure.
Good luck. If you need servo from 954 blade (rr2-rr3) i have spare one.

Valve was very stiff/nearly solid. Now stripped valve and there was carbon build up. Now cleaned up and re assembled. Servo was not mounted tight, and I think/hope this has saved the internal gears. Thanks for your response. If it is shot, how much would you want for the 954 unit ? Seems the only real fault with the 929, and what a pain it is.

When you were rebuilding the valve I hope you didn't grease the bearing surfaces as they would burn when the engine would get hot and the valve would get stuck again. The servo from 954 blade will eliminate FI error, but it won't pull the cables. If your gear cogs are dead you can simply plug in your old servo and it will eliminate the code, of course don't foget about servicing pin thingy! The 954 blade's servo is on ebay at the moment, you can type in ebay cbr 954 servo and it should come up. Good luck.

Well I spoke to one of honda's mechanics, they told me that all it would do is to eliminate the error code. I needed one for my 929 blade and my mate crashed/totalled his 954 so I took one from his bike and it did the trick. Well on the other hand I didn't try to connect the cables to see if it rotates or not, but all cogs were intact. Later I just got another servo for 929 and I was all sorted. I know that from rr4 blade servo can be direct replacement for 929 servo. But all of them got different part codes...

The 954 servo works just fine on the 929.
I don't know about the 1000RR servo as I've never tried one.

929, 954 and 2004/2005 CBR1000RR all appear to do the same job.
I've just fitted the 2004/2005 CBR1000RR to my 929 and it was a simple swap job. Works fine, the picture is of the same type I fitted.
