I'm hearing a light engine ticking even when the bikes temperature is above 80 - 90 Celsius, could it be from the trisynthetic oil ?
The Motul 10w-40 trisynthetic oil or a 5w-40 full synthetic for a 929 2001 ?
What do you guys recommend ?
Thanks alot :)

Engines generally get noisier as the oil gets hotter - that's normal.
I recommend any good semi-synthetic motorcycle oil.

Pretty much this. When I got my first bike I was nervous about the ticking but it never became a problem. Just recently got the 954 and it does the same thing when it reaches running temp.

I could be wrong but I don't think it is caused by an issue.

All engines will have a slight amount of valve train ticking that is noticeable at idle. Like blade said, you'll notice it more as the engine warms as well. When was the last time the valves were serviced?

I just use hp4. It makes me feel good. I don't know why, but I just have a natural aversion to full synthetics. Probably subconsciously price related. lol.

Maybe some good old dino oil will help with the ticks? idk, tbh...
