It looks much better. I always thought that color scheme looked strange stock. Now I know why. It draws much less attention to the giant tail section that we have on our 929's.
You might want to add some yellow to the bottom of the bike to break of the black party down there. You can use vinyl from a hobby shop. It's the stuff they use on r/c airplanes instead of painting them. You buy a sheet and cut out whatever decals/stripes you want. My buddy added a bunch of stripes to his 07 600rr and it looks very professional.
Check out the black undertail with led integrated blinkers I have on my bike in my pic gallery here. I think the black one would look really nice on your bike now. The kit only costs $99 on ebay. It's pretty good quality and everyone says my blinkers are brighter than anyone elses (with integrated blinkers, nothing approaches the stock ones for brightness).
If my bike had the black decals like the ones your bike has (Curt) I would have left them on. My brother and I use to work at a sign shop, so we have lots of vinyl laying around. I'll think of something to do with the rear of the bike. I was thinking more black in the arse end to match the front of the bike. Maybe Black skulls I dunno will see.
Edit: yeah I like that kit I was checking it out. But I wasn't looking at your girl I promise. LOL
You could trace the shape of the original to get a starting point. You can make it look better then mine though buy reshaping it a bit. I'd say you would want to increase the angle going to the tail light. If you look at mine, the angle is a little more than the angle at the bottom of the yellow plastic on the tail section. It helps to make the tail section look slimmer than it is.
You should ask some of the designers at the sign shop for ideas. Some of those people are super creative.
I also never liked the white on the tail. I removed the white but added 929RR in black lettering. Check my gallery, the bike pic is on there. I think it looks much better, with or without adding the lettering. The white just doesn't look right.
I disagree. I like the white. They arent supposed to GO with the pait they are supposed to stand out as they are meat to be like number plates ona race bike. If you get a seat cowl with the white continued onto it it looks even better. When you take off the white the tail just looks unfinished (like you removed graphics) and its too much yellow. If you put some black on it to match the front graphics and break up the yellow I think it would work well and you wouldnt need the white. I would love to see oe with the front upper painted with a simulated white nuber plate also like people do on the Ducatis.
