'94 900RR Project

I picked up a '94 RR project to go along with the others in the garage. Front end, gauges, fairings and wiring harness (really chopped up) have been swapped to 96+, so it's going to be fun to get everything sorted out, but I like the challenge. Replaced the shredded rear fender, put on a rear wheel, threw a battery in it, cleaned up some of the wiring, and we have power, but starter won't turn over. There were only 5 bolts holding the alternator cover on, so I pulled that and found the 1st bit of carnage. After soaking it for a few days, I pulled the timing cover, tried to turn it over and the bolt snapped, so it's seized up good. Time to look for a donor engine...

I was able to un-seize the engine, will be interesting to find out what the problem is once I tear it apart. In the meantime, cleaning up my working space to get ready for the donor bike to show up, hopefully by the end of next week. Have some fairing pieces trickling in, still need to source rear fairings, mid-fairings up front, and a '93-94 upper, keeping eyes peeled on eBay. If anybody has extra fairings, let me know.
Man plastic is so hard to come by. Fingers crossed they do show up you’ll have to pounce right away.
I was under the impression that '93-95 had a single hole in the fairing, and '96 and up had two? Share some pics if you have them, as the tail fairings I currently have aren't worth the effort required to fix them.
With plastic harder to find I’ve fixed some pretty bad stuff. How bad are yours.
Keep your eyes open they’ll show up for sale at some point.
Awesome finding all the plastic. Hope nothings wrong when you check the valves
Can’t wait to see the 93. If the center plastic don’t show up you could just go aftermarket.

Hopefully one turns up. Fingers crossed it’s the right cooler too.
Good score. Can you modify a socket.
