Fellow members,

Carbs are off for a Dynojet upgrade.
Can anyone please advise if the base of the airbox rubber connectors to carb air funnels are normally covered in some form of sealant, or is this a previous owners attempt to seal up ageing rubbers ?
The rubbers are not brittle and are quite malleable.
Pics attached
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks

No sealant or foam. What you see is correct.

What you're seeing is correct, an ageing (and failing) adhesive that retains the rubbers into the airbox base. Looks like some of the adhesive has been augmented with a resin, though.
