I don't know what year plastics are fully interchangeable exactly, yet, I'm still trying to figure that one out for my project. Waiting for parts to arrive and finding the time to do some mixing and matching.
What I can tell you is the US MARKET differences. I say US market because when I start talking about model years, they differ for Candada, Japan, and Europe.
1993-1994 share the same plastics, headlights, tail light, tank, and frame.
1995 shares all the same plastics, tank, tail light, and frame as 1992-1994, minus the front upper fairing, front fairing stay, and headlight. The front upper fairing, upper fairing stay, and headlight are new.
1996-1997 share all the same plastics. The upper front faring, and headlight are same as 1995 model. Tail light is same as 1993-1995. The tank and frame are new.
1998-1999 is completely new, only thing shared is the tank from 1996-1997.
Honestly, best bet, for cleaning up a bike QUICKLY to just RIDE it. Get a full chinese fairing kit for $350-400 USD shipped. Piecing together good OEM plastic takes a LONG time. Then you have to prep, paint, get a sticker kit (if you're going that route).
Those cheap kits come pre painted and pre-stickered with factory colour schemes. You'll be riding within 1 hour of opening that package.
