I bought a 954 back in May. After my 600 Hornet, the power, handling, and braking of the blade is just amazing.

Question:

The front brake master cylinder is kind of leaning over at around 45 degrees from the horizontal, i.e. if I were to just remove the filler cap, the brake fluid would just pour out - to top up the level, I would have to first disconnect the resevoir from the brake lever assembly and get somebody to hold it upright.

I hope this is clear without any pics.

I had just assumed that this was some poor design. But looking a few picks, I'm now not so sure. Can anybody advise?

With the bike leaning on the sidestand and the bars turned fully to one side ( I forget whether it is left or right, but you'd find out quick enough) the fluid levels out, and you can add as needed.

Just in addition. If your front brake reservour needs more break fluid I would recommend bleeding the system and fill with new fluid. It is not a good idea to add fluid if you are not sure what fluid is already in the system.
