My 954(stock exhaust/filter) is always running real rich at startup. If I start it cold it runs rough and smells rich.

yesterday I was doing trackday, and even the engine moderate warm at previous session, it always smells rich after starting. When it runs for couple of seconds it's fine.

Is this common?

first id check your air filter and then the condition of your spark plugs, see if they are really dark from carbon build up since they may not be generating enough spark when cold.

Airfilter is as good as new. Haven't check the plugs yet, they are pretty new.

I think there is enough spark, it starts right up with all four.

Yep, it's just the start-up map. It's a computerized "choke".

"Bike have been crashed, big time."

:rotfl:

One serious thought though, did it go into a gravel trap or dirt? If so, you need to check the airbox, it's probably full of gravel/stones.

thanks, I didn't crash it. Bought it crashed.

And yes I checked the airbox, it had lot of gravel there. Also at the top of the cam cover was lot of gravel, I vacuumed all that stuff out of there, luckily before I removed the plugs:)

here's how the bike looked when I got it.

here it's now

frame has been measured by professional, it's staight.
