I was checking my brake pads and notice the left side front pads are almoust gone, also little uneven wear. Right side has lot of pads left.

I mean both pads are worn down at the left side of the bike.

Is this common? I have stock brake lines. They are still original pads, ~15thousand km on them. Lot of trackdays and hard driving, so I quess it's not that bad.

They do tend to wear unevenly. It is compounded by how clean the calipers are kept, as they get grunged up, one side can tend to drag more. Pull the pads out and clean the hell out of the piston areas, and make sure the pad retaining pins are not grooved or beat up as the pads can hang up on them. I only got 8k miles out of my first set (whatever that is in km)

I wouldnt reccomend bleeding the lines if you are not sure of what you are doing. IF there were any air in the lines, it would not affect pad wear, just overall brake performance. There is a better chance of unleashing more problems by bleeding the brakes if he is unfamiliar with them.

No, all the lines are connected to one master cylinder, when the system is pressurised, both sides will self balance the same pressure. The only thing that could result in what your talking about would be an actual obstruction or kink in one line.

cool makes sense.
also a slightly warped rotor can cause uneven wear as well, but im sure u'd notice some vibrating while you are braking

yep, I'm pretty familiar with the bleeding and changing fluids and all. I have to change the fluid anyways so I check that too.

But it makes sense the pressure gets equal. Well new pads anyways and clean them all.

10miles is ~16km, so 8000miles is prettu close to what my pads lasted.

rant: david silver sells those pads for ~25euros including tax. In here Finland they are 40euros per disk...

I had the same problem at 11k miles on my RR4. The left pads were more worn than the right, and also the left-left pad was worn unevenly. Nothing seemd jammed, but I'd lost braking efficiency. Which prompted the change of pads. Once I'd taken them off, I realised I'd been fooling myself about the state of the brakes. All but one of the wear groves were clearly visible, but the last was two thirds completely erased.
