I have a 97 cbr 900rr ,the oil light will not shut off i checked the oil it seems full,I do all the work on cars and bikes myself but im not a full blown mechanic and can use some help, the bike is running but it starts to feel like its running out of gas sometimes, thats how it runs and i dont wanna damage the engine
Check all the connections for the pressure switch. If it grounds anywhere it will set the light off. Its a pressure switch, so it measures the oil pressure as made by the pump in the main lower case oil galley. It's on the right side of the engine near the bottom of the clutch cover.
Post up some pictures of it. Is it a street fighter by chance? Modified at all? wire harness a mess? All of that can pose problems with a bad ground.
