Re: 97 CBR F3 won't start

hey guys i really need some help in figuring out just what is goin on with my bike. i have a 98 f3 and i think one of the problems might be the rr. pretty sure thats one of them. the other one might stump some of you as it has done to me. i was takin the fuel tank off one day because my keys fell out of ignition on the way to work. (anothe problem soon to be fixed). when i put everything back together i had trouble getting it to start so i jumped it. got it running and took it around the block. i noticed that if i would give it too much throttle it would cut out and not go any faster. so i was coming up to a stop sign so i use the front brakes to slow down. when i pulled the front brake lever the bike took off and scared the hell out of me. i wasnt expecting it.so thats where i got confused. if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. like i said it has me stumped because i have NEVER heard of this happening to anyone. thanks guys:idunno:

Faulty R/R unit is a common charging problem as they over heat & burn out but can also fry the battery. Don't replace with the OEM part, get the pattern part with cooling fins.
If you have had the fuel tank off make sure you have not trapped / pinched / kinked or blocked the rubber breather pipe, if you have then this will create a vacuum causing fuel starvation. There are 2 tubes from the tank one is the breather the other is the over flow tube check both are ok all the way down from the tank.

yeah i got the rr problem figured out and fixed. the other problem is im not able to figure out why the front brake is controlling the throttle. it bogs until i pull the lever to slow down and then it takes off....thats what im stuck on right now

The front brake is hydraulic / mechanical so I don't think it could be causing the throttle issue. How about just a sticky throttle? When you snap the throttle open, does it close just as quickly (like in less than a half second)? How about when you turn the bars lock to lock... does the throttle return get slower?
