if you get any brake fluid on them when bleeding your brakes, bye bye paint.

if you know how to paint go ahead do it just make sure to use the certain quality for rims and frames, or you can get them powder coated either way should be fine.
make sure to use a lot of coats of paint then a lot of coats of clear coat and let it completely dry in between coats. My friend did it with his car rims, they eventually will start getting rock chips. Not like it would be too hard to touch them up when you are changing tires though. Also make sure you give them a good sanding first so the paint will actually stick well. I think that goes without saying though. I dont personally know what kind of paint you would want to use. Im sure if you do some google searches you will be able to find a nice tough paint.
Matching the red on your bike might looks pretty good too
thanks im using high temp caliper paint which is chemical resistant and i will be puting a clear coat its high temp wheel paint it supose to be chip resistant, but it is a polyurethane coating. going with gloss black
Good for you. Black rims simply belong to bikes.
:thumb: thanks man i wasnt to sure about gloss black but its looking good so far, i think polished looks good but if there not clear coated there is too much cleaning, plus black is just bad ass
are you doing this with a spray gun or rattling it?
thanks, i just have 2 coats of black on right now, i need to wet sand and repaint crap got in paint, i painted it too close to floor,
 ? your thaughts- white or black tire hugger the under tail will probable be white and im going to put back the erion racing fairings and might put red rim stripe tell me what yall think
Rim tape seems like a good idea at first, ive tried it, makes the bike look cheaper imo - stay away

Tire hugger maybe white, undertail surely black, or youll clean it every other day
yeah i was thinking white also, forgot about the cleaning part but i think thats a good idea black undertail if its white it may be too much with the hugger being white good call
The caliper paint should do the trick. Just make sure they are super clean and use a primer that is compatible with the paint.
thanks guys ill let you know when i finish it , maybe this weekend
I did this on my 929 gloss black i sanded entire rim very well with 400# grit
used dulpicolor rim paint and clear multiple coats of both i made a stand so i could spin the wheel as i did it to get even coat. think i scuffed/paint rim between coats had it this way for 2-3 years with no prolbems even used some pretty rough stuff to clean rear rim of chain wax ,
think i got paint and clear from autozone
I'm a fan of white rims. I rattle canned my rims way back. i think they chipped a few times during tire changes but it was easy enough to touch up.
thanks just finish painting ill let you know how it holds up when i get tire mounted
