Going to be either buying or building (Dell has a smokin deal right now) a HTPC for it and was wondering if anyone here has any experiance in it? Looking for Tips and Advice. definitely build your own pc. If you can't put together a pc good luck setting up and running a HTPC. You're going to spend alot of time fighting with the pc to get it to output the format you want. Are you going to be running a High definition tv tuner in the pc? You'll need a huge over 200gig hard drive to be worth anything if you're recording high def. video. I have tons of appz and tons of info for htpc's but unless you read about it all you won't be able to run it all anyways. Go to http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/ and click on home theater pc section. This web site by far has the most info, every thing you'll need from projectors, audio equipmnet, screens, htpc's, anything and everything. Just start reading.

You've got a lot to read and learn but it's real fun if you're into that stuff. Good luck and have fun!!

Thats where I have been learning but its a info overload. its to hard to find out what I need to know almost. I hooked my pc up to the X1 last night and got to the desktop but when i tried to play games, it wouldnt load a image on the X1. and S-Video was all crappy looking while VGA looked fine. I am not going to be recording HD, dont want to.

The Dell pc was a p4/3 ghz, 1 gig of ram, 128 radeon card, etc. and i priced all that at new egg and it came to the same ($800) but dell has a $150 instant rebate so it came to $650 on dell includding shipping. I may go the dell way.
