Hello everyone i am new and dont know much about the 900rr's. I recently owned a cbr f3 and boy did i enjow that bike. The reason for me selling was because i wanted something with a little more power and torque the reason being because when my girlfriend got on my bike i felt it struggle just a tad bit more. She only weighs 108lbs. Anyways ive been looking for a 900rr 95-99. I found a guy selling one for 3500 US but the plastics have rash all over them , the clutch basket needs replacement and the bike has 40k miles. At about what mileage do these motors last or will start to give you problems ? Any suggestions or comments will help. Thank you

$3500 for a bike that's almost 10 years old, has been crashed, and needs repair work done on it isn't a good deal. Keep looking around...I'm sure there are lots of better deals.

Im in Australia, where the market is a little different, but converting what i bought to imperial I paid about $5500 for bike with 10000 miles, yoshi can, tinted screen and a few other nice bits and pieces. The bike was in (and is still in :)) absolutely immaculate condition. The fairing didnt have a single mark on it, not even a stone chip (its got a few more of them now :(). Seeing as how bikes are quite a bit cheaper over there id say for mine you would pay around $4000 for what I bought, if not less.

Sounds to me like ur about to get bent over and done without any lube.

Im sure you'd love the extra torque in the 900rr, but if you're really looking to get one you could do a lot better. I paid $3000 for my '95 about year and a half ago(from a dealer) with 14,000 miles on it. As far as the clutch basket goes you're looking at ~280.00 for just the basket and a little bit more than that plates, springs etc if you do the work yourself. I have almost 30k on mine and haven't had any major problems. And, :welcome:

If you want to have a passenger you might want to look at a VFR or some form of sport touring bike. Oh, and $3500 for that bike is way too high.

My girlfreind used to ride passenger all the time on my f3 and it was still pretty comfortable for me and her. There would be no way in hell that you will ever catch me on a vfr. That is just my personal opinion. Thank you everyone i think if i end up buying the bike i might as well strip it down to the frame and rebuild the entire bike. Im a turbo freak so i was thinking i might as well get the motor rebuilt and lower the compression. My car is turbo, my dads is turbo, my gf's is turbo , why not a bike ?

Check out traderonline.com or local ebay auctions. Tons of used bikes in Orlando. 900RR's here tend to go for way too much money I think. Try looking for other comparable models. 929 is a much better bike and can be bought for the same money as an older 900RR here. I dunno why :idunno: . Don't bother with the Stealers here because they want to rip you off. THey are only good for factory parts and new bikes in my opinion.

THey once offered me $3500 for my 929 on a trade while they were selling used 929's in the front for $8500. I think they are still trying to sell those same two 929's for $8500 :rotfl:.

If you buy on ebay don't submit any money untill you see the bike tell them you will pay when you pick it up. Avoid salvage title, its a lot of work and time with the paperwork and not worth the money you save.

For close to $4000 you should be able to buy a 900RR in good condition with good tires that needs no repairs. And probably has a few aftermarket mods already on it.

Thanks ucfmotorcycle1. What kind of bike do you have ? I live in orlando and yeah they are way overpriced. I know a guy selling a 95 rr for 4800 but it is in mint condition but has 33k miles. I currently own a 88 10th anniversary rx7 turbo 2 , my dad has a 93 rx7 and my girlfreind has a 95 talon awd turbo. Im a welder so fabricating stuff is easy and cheap. Everything in this world is overpriced lol. Im currently putting a single turbo setup on my dads car and i have the whole kit besides the blow off valve and intercooler and so far ive onle spent 800 dollars on brand new items too. But im just confused on what to do , either offer the guy with the beat up 96 2500 or offer the guy with the 95 4000. Decisions decicions.

offer 3500 for the good one and wheel and deal and pay $4000

I have a 2000, 929 with 10,600 miles on it and a custom matalice black paint job, 954 swingarm, and smoked sheild on it that I will let go of for 5500obo
oh yeah and an extra rear tire a D208/ 180.

I got my '98 900RR this summer for $3900, including a rear stand. New plastics, but a dented tank that hadn't been replaced. Leaking fork seals on the throttle side front fork. Other than that, it was perfect. Oh, and in AZ bikes seem to be more expensive than most of the country. Maybe because our riding season is 365 days a year, minus the 5 or 6 when it rains.

The 9dubbaR is popular because it's some sort of mythical stunt bike. Like my friend's Integra Type R is revered, but is only a phenomenal car when it's on the track, on the street it's just another low 14sec car. Anyhow, the 900RR is real purdy. Mine's all yellow. :eyebrows:
