the TM doesnt offer much for performance but it definately looks sweet and is unique...its really not that loud..about the same as my fmf...my friend has one and we had this conversation...the TM is a little quieter at idle but a little louder at high RPM's...i was gonna get one but i decided to save a little cash and go the performance route because i am getting into more track riding...either way the new CBR is fast enough...especially with a PCV, IRC and any aftermarket pipe...the bike is just amazing at everything...

Hi Fishboy... stunning looking CBR... unusual color too. You are right about the TM it looks the bollocks no doubt about it... I have been led to believe it is a very loud system with no Db killer if you need to.. is that what you have found..? Is it any lighter than the stock pipe as it looks to have quite a bit of engineering in it...
Love the Ohlins by the way.... I used to run a Duc 999s with Ohlins and the ride quality was very nice... I like the way the CBR handles much better but talk about harsh ride.. a good bump will have you out the seat, something I never experienced with the Ohlins 999....
Thanks man.

The TM is a tad loud, but not much more than the Yosh R-77.
They all really scream above say 7000rpm.

I spoke to the folks @ TM and they're working on a baffle as we speak...maybe a few months away, they didn't give a ready date.

The TM is about 9 lbs lighter than the stock can. The performance increase isn't huge, maybe 5-6hp low-mid range, but hey, the CBR don't need much help in that dept. Which ever pipe you go with, you'll be wanting to add a Power Commander & IRU unit from DynoJet...makes all the difference in the world performance wise.

You think the Fireblade has a harsher ride around town than the Duc?
I find the CBR to be the most ergonomically friendly of the liter bikes, but I've not ridden them all.
With the Ohlins adjustability, a comfortable "street" setting is just a few clicks away.

Cheers

Yes that Duc was hard work.. I ride with friends on a Sunday and we do a 140 mile round trip on some great roads.. this includes a stop at the 80 mile mark for a rest and chat... everyone on the liter bikes were feeling good and I was with a sore neck, wrists, not looking forward to the ride home so I had to get it gone... Having said that the susp ride quality was very good.. used to soak up bumps that send the CBR in a flap... not that the CBR does anything nasty but it does bounce you about a bit.. what was my favourite 90mph corner on the Duc no seems to have a nasty bump in it that really gets my attension... love the CBR though for how capable and nimble it is.. oh and that nasty motor does not hurt any either..
