A larger easy out driven directly into the hex would have worked. Also, using the next size larger standard allen in a stripped metric allen will sometimes provide enough bite to get it out, for hex's that large I use a manual impact driver, it works well. I do the reverse of that, I use a 2.5mm allen wrench to remove stripped 3/32" allen screws on a weekly basis, works most of the time.
Kroil. The oil that creeps. Soak it and try again. Use the biggest easy out you can. Drill it out as large as you can, then easy out it. Tap the easy out in the hole with a hammer for a good bite. Works every time.
