Is it worth to upgrade brake lines?
Which company has the best plug and play options.
If I upgrade I want oem routing and look.
Some Ebay options I found were little cheap looking and routing didn't look right.

Just buy from a reputable company they usually fit the same (Galfer, Spiegler, Goodridge, Hel)
If I upgrade I want oem routing and look?
For look get black, for routing most will be different because oem are usually joint lines while the after market lines have individual lines to each caliper that are joint at the master cylinder.
Some Ebay options I found were little cheap looking and routing didn't look right.

That about covers it. :plus1: I have brand new HEL lines in red. Fit and finish were fine, installed with instructions for torque, all stainless fittings and banjo's and reasonably priced. No leaks, which can happen sometimes with crappy copper washers and aluminum banjos. Good luck with what you choose, all those previously mentioned companies are good.

Can you post or send me pics of the install and how it looks. I want to see front and rear routing.
I would go with red lines myself.

I have the 2 line system which is considered the "standard" application for the best feel and response. Red stainless banjo's and stainless bolts.

Cool bike and thanks for pics. I am going to simmer on this for a minute.
I would end up with holes in my front fender after removing oem fittings. I don't like that lol

Thanks. It was a great build. If you continue to research the brake lines, HEL can do an OEM set up, which include the giant black bushings that fit in the OEM clamps. I just cut them off as I wasn't using the stock clamps. They are just above the banjo bolts on the calipers- They are shown in this pic:

I see the bushings but my oem is a single line down the right side to a splitter that mounts to the fender. From there there is a u hose that runs to the opposite caliper

I dont have pictures, at the moment, but I just went with Spiegler Rennsports, because I wanted on line out of the master, to a T, that splits off one line to each caliper.

At first thats what I wanted for my R1 but went with the single line per caliper set up. If I recall correctly, my decision was because you get a little better feel with one line per caliper instead of the more piping setup, plus it was cheaper. Goodridge also sell the T line for a little more like the Rennsport.

You know, I went to this Rennsport on my GSXR from a Galfer Superbike 2 line setup and didn't notice any difference in feel. I am going to pay attention a little better next time I ride, I bet you're right though, now I need to know. :thumb:

I'm pretty sure they can duplicate that as well, but may just run a single line to the right caliper, then using a double length banjo bilt with a jumper line to the left caliper. Still, the 2 line set up (one to each caliper) has always been the hot set up. Keep researching and get what satisfies you. Good luck.

You know, I went to this Rennsport on my GSXR from a Galfer Superbike 2 line setup and didn't notice any difference in feel. I am going to pay attention a little better next time I ride, I bet you're right though, now I need to know. :thumb:
Honestly, I don't think us mere mortals would be able to tell the difference. Steel braided changed to steel braided, I don't think the difference would be that apparent compared to rubber lines changed to steel braided. And since the difference in so minimal, unless you're doing the test back to back and keeping everything constant the results would be invalid. There's just too much to consider such as brake oil temperature and rotor temperature. Lets say you began the test in the afternoon when the sun is at it's warmest and concluded at sun set. The unit you tried in the warmer temperature may seem to be inferior because heat robs braking performance when it passes operating temperature. Unless you're out to win champions, I think this is just one of those preference things. The Op may like the T lines better since they are closer to OEM set up, for me the idea of having the possible best set up is what I wanted, fact or not.

Spiegler. Top quality, great looking, and you can swivel the banjo fittings (not recommended to swivel more than 360 degrees, so don't go spinning like a kid on an office chair :D ) to make the lines fit exactly the way you want them to.
Kyle had the best price on them for quite a while.

Ah yes, good question FJ. I've seen their ads, and they look just as good as any others out there. I'm fairly certain RRdemon had/has those in his 954. Tons of custom color options, etc. I went with the HEL lines really only because they came quickly out of Pennsylvania. (And well priced).

Thanks Ian. I have my eye on the translucent smoke/carbon lines with black banjos and black labels with dark orange text. $148 front and rear, dual front line set up.

I think the price was exactly the same for mine. Can't go wrong with 3 custom braided lines for that money. I would pull the trigger. :thumb:

Not familiar with Coremoto, are they race proven by members or racing organizations? And with prices on par with the well known brands, why not just go for them?
