before anybody says get a haynes manual, i have ordered one but wont be here until next week, but will be pulling the bike apart to fit a choke cable .

any tips, bolts need to be torque loaded, or feel of the hand ? and anyother things i should do whilst i have the rocker cover off?

hi. cold valve clearance should be:
inlet valves .12 to .18mm
J,K,L and N models .17 to .23 mm
R models .18 to .24mm

just incase you need the cylinder compression: 156 to 213psi (10.8 to 14.7bar)
