Honda has introduced an electronic steering damper.

This is a transaltion from the italian website:

The new of electronic steering damper, developed in collaboration with Kayaba is composed from the following components:

A world first. The hydraulic rotary steering mounted over the steering head is electronically controlled.
It includes:
1. A computerized control system integrated in the (ECU).
2. A set of sensors, connected to the tach, to monitor velocity
3. A sensor installed in the instrument cluster to provide accurate feedback on H.E.S.D opeartion

As opposed to most steering dampers on the market, this electronic model does not use predefined or static parameters. In fact, the damping is controlled and dependent upon the duynamic exchange between the steeering damper and the ECU in terms of bike velocity, rate of acceleration etc,

Infinetelly variable operation. Non-perceptible as low speeds or constant speeds, but instantly called upon if need arises.

Oops!

I translated that on the Italian website and got a bit excited!

I hadn't noticed anyone mentioning this. It's a huge step.
